The dome will be the next significant project for the R2D2 project. While I had plans to attempt my own dome construction, the dome sold by Daren at Astromech.net was selected. The cost of creating my own was near the price that Daren charges for his hydroformed and 5-axis laser cut dome. This choice more importantly saved me a significant amount of time to work on other areas of the droid.
